Recently, I have been focusing on painting the landscape in an unconventional way. I want to show a twist on reality with nature abstracted through color, stroke and texture. These natural abstractions are designed to lift people’s spirits and instill a sense of hope and serenity, while leaving some interpretation up to the viewer’s imagination. Created with the highest quality materials over many days up to several weeks, I build layer upon layer, working from thin to extremely thick paint. This layering process creates an evocative luminosity and textural depth in the final painting that brings the landscape to life.
