Contemporary Poppy Field Painting by Palette Knife Artist Niki Gulley

“Symphony in Springtime VI” ©2023 Niki Gulley

36″ x 36″ textured oil painting on wrap around canvas

I absolutely love it when I come across a whole field of wildflowers – there is something about the transformation of a single dainty flower into a dense explosion of color that inspires awe and delights your senses. I liked how these rows of poppies and rolling grasses created a gentle harmony, inviting you to wander into the distance, getting lost in the moment. Full of color and hope, may my “Symphony in Springtime” transport you to a happy serene place.

“Sun’s Glory II” ©2023 Niki Gulley
24″ x 24″ textured oil painting on wrap around canvas

I wanted this piece to be uplifting and full of color and energy. The sun sets on the horizon, casting its beautiful glow across golden petals while perky, circular faces smile back at you. Magical light dances through the morning field, bringing sunshine and hope for the day to come.

New Uplifting Sunflower Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

SOLD • 24” x  12” acrylic painting on canvas ©2023 Niki Gulley

Just Sold!  I kept procrastinating because of our 106 degree heat, but everyday when I’d look out the window, the sunflowers in my garden would be calling me! So, I finally gave in this week, set the alarm for 6 am (which Scott dearly loved) and started painting at first light and the coolest part of the day at 88 degrees. It was worth it! The golden beauties are just so cheerful and colorful, that I almost got so lost in the process of capturing them that I forgot about the sweltering discomfort – almost!

I hope they can bring some joy and sunshine to your day, too!

12″ x 9″ textured acrylic painting on canvas

Filled with whimsy and movement, I hope “Playtime” captures the memories of swinging from sturdy branches on a lazy summer day. Using staccato strokes, adds to the energy of the moment while fun pops of color build excitement. Not a care in the world, I hope you can feel the joy as you fly high and soar on a dream.

Textured Hollyhocks Painting by Texas Artist Niki Gulley

“Beauty in Blue III” ©2023 Niki Gulley
12″ x 9” textured acrylic painting on canvas panel

What was I saying about not getting enough blue? Today, my friend and talented artist, Sheri Jones, and I decided to paint another beautiful blue craftsman home as part of the “Paint Historic Waxahachie.” But this time I wanted the emphasis on their gorgeous hollyhock garden! The flowers were such a beautiful shade of pale cream with the sun creating blush and golden accents. The homeowner was so welcoming and took such pride in her yard that I was really glad I chose this location, too. What a fun afternoon!

Painting Yuccas Blooming in Texas by Palette Knife Artist Niki Gulley

7″ x 5” textured acrylic painting on canvas panel • framed in black

Continuing to “Paint Historic Waxahachie,” that afternoon we only had a little time left to paint in the day, so we chose to capture this blue home and beautiful yuccas planted in front of it. After painting so much pink, now I couldn’t get enough of painting blue! The contrast in the reds and azures were so fun and cheerful that I had to capture that uplifting pop of color.
