New Cheerful Rose Painting Series by Palette Knife Artist Niki Gulley

What a beautiful surprise to have these roses blooming in my garden this winter! Of course the next night it was supposed to freeze and I couldn’t let these beauties go to waste. After cutting and assembling them in a vase, I just kept staring at them as they were bringing so much color and joy to the grey day. Despite several projects on my plate, I had to take a break and capture these rosy fleeting blooms. May they bring some vibrancy to your winter days, too.

These paintings look great hung alone or in a grouping.

I am in love with my rose bush in my backyard! Each bloom has so many colors and every blossom is slightly different. From pink to red to peach to yellow, they are so beautiful to watch. Today I had to go out in my backyard, set up my easel and capture their joy from life. I hope they lift your spirits, too!

Just Sold! On a visit to New Mexico, we were greeted to cheerful wildflowers blossoming, adding pops of joy and sunshine to the desert scenery. Repeating patterns and waves of color create a harmony within the painting, while rendering the blooms and their surroundings abstractly plays with taking a traditional subject matter and showing it in a contemporary way.

I wanted to capture the rhythm, color and harmony of prolific wildflowers flowing along this blossoming hillside. Making sure to not over blend my thick strokes so that you could see the marks and feel the energy found in nature, Colorful Two Step is loaded with texture, vibrant hues and movement. We are loving the peaceful surroundings of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. We booked this picturesque campsite where we have our own dock and lake view. This morning we woke up to this serene scene, and of course, I just had to paint it! Golden light illuminating the beginnings of fall with a gentle ripple causing the reflections to meld into a beautiful symphony of colors.
