Just sold through the Good Art Company Gallery!  I wanted this painting to convey the joy of being surrounded by our gorgeous Texas wildflowers. Painting these bluebonnets larger than life and flinging and pouring paint to create a joyful, kinetic kaleidoscope, I feel like the result really lifts one’s spirits. Playing with a calming palette of blues, yellows and greens and building up a lot of texture with palette knives also adds to the energetic, peaceful presence of being immersed in nature.

I wanted this painting to be about the joy I feel in springtime when Texas wildflowers are bursting forth, creating their symphony of colors. With such depressing news these days, I felt compelled to paint something that would make us feel much better. And, it worked on me, so I hope it does the same for you. I felt so much happier after painting this larger than life bluebonnet and Indian Paintbrush scene. Working with palette knife and a lot of texture, reveling in the process of flinging and pouring paint to create a joyful, kinetic kaleidoscope, and playing with a cheerful palette of reds, yellows and blues, I feel like this one really lifts one’s spirits and has a touch of whimsy to it.
